Pride in Ryde's New Regalia
The Town Council is delighted to announce that it has been presented with a Mayoral Chain, Consort's Badge and Cadet's Badge following a very generous donation from local resident Jeffrey Please. The new regalia was designed and made by Menna from G & M Jewellery in Ryde and features two 'Rydeosaurs', larger versions of which can be found on Ryde Pier.
Ryde Lantern Parade and Festive Fun Day - Saturday 4th December 2010
Ryde is looking forward to this year's Lantern Parade and Festive Fun day on 4th December. A range of activities will be taking place throughout the town from 10am until 7pm, including Morris dancers, African drummers, jugglers, stilt walkers, brass bands, bell ringers, choirs and Father Christmas in his grotto. Many shops will be open until 6pm and the day will end with the fantastic lantern parade and a grand firework display.
Garland and Wreath Making Day - Saturday 4th December 2010
Ryde Arts Festival will also be hosting a garland and wreath making day in St Thomas Heritage Centre on the 4th December between 10.30am and 4pm. The garland making is free and music from a local choir will add to the festivities.
Ryde Shows Support For Classic Car Show 2011
The Town Council is pleased to announce that it will again be supporting next year's 10th Anniversary Classic Car Show on Ryde Esplanade on Sunday, 18th September. Ryde Mayor Councillor Brian Harris said 'Ryde is delighted to welcome Vic Gallucci and his wonderful event back to Ryde next year - it’s a highlight of the Island’s events calendar and brings much needed visitors into our town.'
